Train derails in Gibson City

GIBSON CITY – Crews have been busy cleaning up in Gibson City following a train derailment which occurred Sunday.

A few cars carrying corn and an engine reportedly tipped off of the railroad tracks in the area of southwest 8th Street, behind Davis Welding. The Gibson City mayor initially reported traffic was not blocked and the mess was expected to be cleaned up Monday.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.
