Fire destroys apartment building

BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington apartment building was destroyed by fire Saturday afternoon and appears to be a total loss.

Crews responded to the blaze at 1101 Gettysburg Drive after 3 p.m. A firefighter reportedly suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. The building’s occupants were taken to the Red Cross for assistance.

There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire.
