ZBA recommends wind project

BLOOMINGTON – Northeastern McLean County is one step closer to having a wind farm.
The McLean County Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously recommended approval of the Invenergy proposal which would span several townships, including Lawndale, Gridley, Chenoa, Money Creek and Lexington. Around 100 turbines are included in the $300 million project.
The entire McLean County Board now decides the project’s fate as it plans to meet Feb. 20 at 9 a.m. in room 400 of the Government Center in downtown Bloomington. The ZBA held several nights of public hearings in Bloomington.
