Piano teacher faces charges

A Pekin man was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon in Normal on charges of predatory criminal sexual assault including a victim under 13 and multiple counts with victims ranging in age from 13-17.

Michael Parlier, 36, was arrested by U.S. Marshals Task Force in the 1300 block of Warriner Street in Normal. Parlier had reportedly given piano lessons to children at many places throughout the Bloomington-Normal area for several years.

As the investigation is ongoing, Bloomington Police are asking anyone who may have been a piano student of Parlier or believe they could have been a victim, to contact the department at 309-434-2672. Anyone with information and wishes to remain anonymous should call McLean County Crime Stoppers at 309-828-1111.

If the call leads to the arrest and indictment of suspects, you could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
