Hit and run investigated

BLOOMINGTON – Authorities in Bloomington are investigating a hit-and-run accident which occurred Saturday.

Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and noticed an injured woman on the ground next to a black Mercedes-Benz. The driver of the second vehicle was found with serious injuries trapped inside. Witnesses reported two men next to the Mercedes-Benz walked away from the scene. The driver of the black Mercedes reportedly failed to stop and fled. The car had a temporary Illinois plate of 696T871.

The male and female victims were both transported to area hospitals for treatment. The investigation is ongoing by the Bloomington Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
