Man faces weapons charges
BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man has been arrested for multiple counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm in an occupied vehicle and several counts of a felon possessing a weapon.
Willie Dawson, 33, was arrested Friday by Bloomington Police Department’s Street Crime Division, K-9 unit and U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force in the 300 block of South Western Avenue. He was transported to the McLean County Jail.
Back on Dec. 23, authorities responded to the 1900 block of Peach Street for a report of shots fired. Police arrived on scene and were told a black male was seen shooting a handgun toward a group of people. Officers then located shooting evidence in the area. No injuries were reported and no initial arrests were made in connection with the incident.
