Ford County police activity

The following information was released by the Ford County Sheriff's Department.

01-02/ a sheriff’s deputy assisted Elliott Fire Department with a house fire at 816E and 500N Rd.

01-02/ a sheriff’s deputy handled a two vehicle crash at Railroad and Dawn Ave. No injuries were reported.

01-02/ a sheriff’s deputy responded to a single vehicle crash at 800N and 1366E Rd. No injuries were reported.

01-03/ a sheriff’s deputy responded to a fire alarm at the Piper City Rehab Facility. The alarm was unfounded.

01-03/ a sheriff’s deputy responded to a welfare check in Cabery. No one was found inside the residence.

01-03/ a sheriff’s deputy responded to a single vehicle crash at 1197N and 900E Rd. No injuries were reported.

01-04/ sheriff’s deputies responded to a two vehicle crash at Route 9 and 1300E Rd. The crash was handled by the Illinois State Police. Two occupants of a Mitsubishi Convertible were deceased upon arrival to the scene. A semi driver involved in the crash was uninjured.

01-04/ a sheriff’s deputy responded to a welfare check in Melvin. The resident was found sleeping on the couch and in good health.

01-05/ a sheriff’s deputy responded to an animal complaint in Melvin.

01-06/a sheriff’s deputy responded to a suspicious person in Piper City.

01-06/ a sheriff’s deputy completed a welfare check in Sibley. The resident was found sleeping and in good health.

01-06/ a sheriff’s deputy responded to a single vehicle crash in Melvin. The driver was issued several citations and was uninjured.

01-07/ a sheriff’s deputy assisted Riverside Ambulance personnel with an intoxicated male in Kempton.

01-07/ a sheriff’s deputy responded to an open gate at a Robert’s business. No suspicious activity was found.

01-08/ sheriff’s deputies responded to a single vehicle roll over crash with ejection on 1000E and 00N Rd in rural Elliott. The two front occupants were uninjured. The male, that was asleep in the backseat, was ejected through the rear window and landed in the field next to the vehicle. That occupant sustained minor injuries and was transported to Carle hospital.

01-08/ a sheriff’s deputy took a fraud complaint in Melvin.

01-09/ a sheriff’s deputy took a phone scam report in rural Piper City.

01-09/ a sheriff’s deputy stood-by for a property exchange in Kempton.

01-09/ a sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on Route 47 and Maple Street in Gibson City. A passenger in the vehicle was wanted on a warrant and arrested without incident.

01-10/ a sheriff’s deputy took a theft report in Piper City.

01-10/ a sheriff’ deputy responded to a domestic disturbance in Piper City which resulted in the arrest of a female that had battered two other occupants of the residence. The female also resisted arrest and attempted to batter the deputy. The deputy and other occupants received very minor injuries.

01-11/ a sheriff’s deputy took an animal complaint of a horse running loose in Clarence.

01-12/ a sheriff’s deputy took a juvenile report in Piper City.

01-12/ a sheriff’s deputy took a harassment complaint in Kempton.

01-12/ a sheriff’s deputy responded to a domestic disturbance in Cabery. The female agreed to leave for the evening and arrange for a property exchange at a later date.

01-13/ sheriff’s deputies responded to a welfare check in Elliott. The subject had left the Elliott residence and the call was turned over to Champaign County for further investigation.

01-14/ a sheriff’s deputy took a harassment complaint from a Sibley resident.

01-14/ a sheriff’s deputy assisted the Illinois State Police with a single vehicle roll-over crash on Route 9 and 2500E Rd. There were no injuries reported.

01-14/ a sheriff’s deputy assisted the Illinois State Police with a multi vehicle crash on I-57 at the 263MP southbound. 2 people were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
