David Wayman, a local Realtor with Eppel Realty, is marking 20 years in the real estate business this year.

A lifelong resident of Pontiac and Livingston County, David’s career in real estate has been deeply rooted in a family legacy of service, care, and community dedication that spans more than six decades.

David’s story is one of commitment and continuity. Growing up surrounded by a family deeply invested in supporting local communities, David learned the value of giving back early on. From the Pines Supper Club in Streator to Wayman’s ACE Hardware in DeKalb, Wayman’s True Value Hardware in Morton, and Wayman’s Super-Way in Cornell, his family’s businesses have long been pillars of their respective communities. The Wayman family’s grocery store in Cornell expanded to become Don’s Red Fox Supermarket in Pontiac, where it became a staple in the area for years.

After completing an Associate’s Degree in Marketing in 1991, David began managing Don’s Red Fox until his parents retired in 2006. That’s when David made the decision to embark on his career in real estate.

As of January 1, 2006, he has been helping clients buy and sell homes with a strong focus on educating and guiding people, especially first-time home buyers.

In David’s words, real estate is not a “sales” job—it is about easing the fears of clients, counseling them through the decision-making process, and ensuring they are confident when it comes time to close. This dedication has earned him respect and gratitude from his clients and peers alike.
